Your StreamCode Studio username
The device and browser you used during setup
π€ Username (Owner Account)
The username registered on StreamCode Studio is automatically assigned Owner status in your chatroom.
This username is used to identify you as the chat owner when you join the chat.
Owner permissions allow you to manage moderators, bots, and users.
π» Device ID (Security Lock)
A Device ID is generated the first time you create or activate your chat.
This Device ID is browser-specific (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.).
It helps prevent unauthorised users from taking control of your chatroom.
β οΈ Important:
If you change computer, reinstall your browser, or switch browsers, your old Device ID will no longer be recognised.
π Why this is important
This system ensures that:
Only the real chat owner can access owner-level controls
Chats canβt be hijacked by someone copying your chat key
Ownership remains secure even on public websites
π Changing device or browser?
No problem π
If you need to move to a new computer or browser:
Log in to your SCS Dashboard
Generate a new Device ID
Your old one will be automatically invalidated
β Best practice
Always use the same browser you used when creating the chat
Keep your SCS login secure
Regenerate your Device ID if anything changes
